Auroral Forecast Predicts Spectacular Light Show

Northern and Southern Hemisphere Aurora Intensities and Locations Released

Nighttime Displays Expected to Dazzle Observers

The latest predictions from the Ovation Prime model, a space weather forecasting tool, reveal the intensity and location of aurora displays in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres for tonight and tomorrow night.

According to the model, observers in North America and Europe will be treated to strong to moderate aurora activity, with the lights visible as far south as the northern United States and southern Canada. In the Southern Hemisphere, aurora activity is expected to be similar, with strong to moderate displays visible in Antarctica and the southern tip of South America.

The aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, is a natural light display that occurs when electrons from the solar wind interact with Earth's magnetic field and upper atmosphere. The aurora australis, or Southern Lights, is the same phenomenon that occurs in the Southern Hemisphere.
